The Globe Theater
Many of Shakespeare’s plays were staged in The Globe Theater. The Globe Theater first opened in 1599, on the site of another theater that had been stripped out because of lease problems, in fact The Globe was built with the wood of that theater. The June of 1613, was when the theater went down in flames, due to a misfired stage canon used as a prop in one of Shakespeare’s plays(Henry The Eighth). The Globe was initially a principal playhouse for Lord Chamberlain’s Men, many others were shareholders of the theater, including Shakespeare. As time passed Shakespeare's ownership's of The Globe lessened because there were more stock holders. Present day, there many replicas of this historic theater, due to its value.
