
ABOUT WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE
William Shakespeare was baptized on April 26, 1564 in Stratford-upon Avaon, England. Though no birth records exist it is assumed that he was born around April 23, 1564. He was the child of John a successful leather merchant and Mary Arden, a local landed heiress. William had 5 siblings, 2 older sisters Joan and Judith and three older brothers Gilbert, Richard and Edmund. He married Anne Hathaway in 1582 she was 26 and he was only 18. They had their first child Susanna in 1583 and later in 1585 they had twins Hamnet and Judith. Unfortunately Hamnet died of an unknown cause at the age of 11 in 1596. To get away from all the chaos in his life at that time, he fled to London. This lead to the beginning of William's theatrical career as he was in London a city of art and literature. As the years went by he started writing and acting in plays becoming more successful then ever. By 1597 15 of the 37 plays he wrote were published. Around that time he worked as a managing partner at an acting company. Soon after he bought the second largest in Startford house for his family but then again he only visited them once a year. During his last years alive he wrote many plays about tragic events that represented vivid human behavior which included Hamlet. Towards his death he a difficult relationship with is wife. It is believed he died April 23, 1616 on his birthday.
